Drew Henig
Director of Baseball Operations
I’m honored to step into the role of Director of Baseball Operations for The Oakland Chargers. As a former college baseball player, I bring a competitive mindset, passion for the game, and firsthand experience in player development to the organization. My specialties include infield development and hitting instruction, where I focus on helping athletes build strong fundamentals, confidence, and a high baseball IQ.
My goal is to create a positive, disciplined, and competitive environment that allows players to grow both on and off the field. I’m excited to work alongside our coaches, players, and families to continue building a strong culture and helping athletes reach their full potential.
Chris Rosnik
Hitting/Catching Coach
Chris comes to the Chargers with an extensive background in coaching, both at the travel and High School levels. He is also on the MCA staff for catchers training throughout the year.
Drew Fleming
Hitting Coach
Drew Fleming is the Current Assistant Manager of the Eastside Diamond Hoppers of the USPBL and a former professional baseball player. He is a 2x NAIA All-American, 2x WHAC Player of the Year, NCCAA Player of the Year, and Concordia University Ann Arbor Hall of Famer. Drew is passionate about helping athletes improve their skills, confidence, and overall knowledge of the game.
Aaron Loconsole
Fielding Coach
Played college baseball at Bowling Green University and Wayne State University.
Austin Frederick
Pitching Coach
I attended Chippewa Valley HS and continued my playing career at Adrian College. I was a pitcher on the Adrian Bulldog pitching staff for four years including their World Series run in 2021.
I have plenty of experience working with all levels of athletes from youth to high school, as well as a passion for growing and helping pitchers utilize their full potential.
The main goal is simple - create sound pitchers based on great mechanics and an understanding the importance of physical and mental skills.
Tanner Kiest
Pitching Coach
I Pitched 12 years professionally with Phillies, Twins, Giants and Dodgers organizations. Also pitched in high level international winter leagues in Dominican Republic and Mexico.
5 years of coaching experience doing individual lessons and working with teams from youth to college.
Bachelors degree in Sports Management from Wayne State University.
Chris Schmees
Pitching Coach
Born and raised in Rochester, Michigan. Attended Stoney Creek High School and played one year of varsity baseball.
Pitched five seasons at Saginaw Valley State University. Recorded 113 strikeouts in 124 career innings. 3x Gliac Pitcher of the Week Honorable Mention.
Played 3 Seasons of college summer baseball with Royal Oak Leprechauns. 2022 GLCSL All Star.
Two years of prior coaching experience with 17-18u summer baseball.
